 JANUARY RIDE
For our January 8th ride I had planned a 70 mile route through Ventura County, a stop at Mystery Point of Hwy 126 were balls roll uphill and lunch in Santa Paula.  But on Tuesday I was contacted by Treve Bartlett who rides with the local sportbikes club, Pacific Coast Riderz, and he asked if we could instead join his club for their first memorial ride to honor their 2 female members. The 2 girls were riding on one bike in Jan. 2011 on Rice Ave. when a female driving a limousine turned in front of them.  For those that plan on riding this Sunday, after you read the details below for the memorial ride let me know if you want to stick with our original plans or do the memorial ride.  We might be able to do both!  I would like to do the memorial ride and on Saturday morning I will put the destination that got the most votes up on our Ride Calendar page.  Either way we will meet at the Ventura Carl's Jr. at 8:15 and take off at 9.

This is a memorial ride for our two fallen members Courtney and Carmen, lost Jan 9th 2011. we will be meeting at 10am at the shell station by wal-mart in Oxnard. Kickstands up at 1030. from there we will go visit the crash site where you can lay flowers light candles and have a moment of silence. from there we will ride down the PCH to Dume Point State beach to drop flowers in the ocean. From there we will ride back to Oxnard for food at Yolanda's. Please make it out to this event, this is very important. Spread the word to any rider you can think of. This is open to all clubs and solo riders. the more we have the more of a point we will make to the public about watching out for us.  Treve.

 TOWING OPTIONS
Hopefully you will never need to call a tow truck for your bike but if you do we have some options to add to your cell phone. The following info can always be found on our Towing page.
Richard Ziegler, owner of EZ Cycle Rescue and our Member from Fillmore.
Paul's Cycle Rescue  in Ventura County.  Paul has a trailer made for MCs and he knows what he's doing.
Angelo Pisani, our Member from Solvang.  He has a trailer you can borrow.

A member suggested that if you break down far from home it might be cheaper to rent a u haul truck with a trailer and tow your bike to wherever you need to go instead of paying a towing company their per mile rate.  I think this is a great suggestion and I hope I remember this if I am ever in that situation.
